On February 16, 2025, at 10:23 PM, two angels on high tilted their wings this way and took our loved one to his heavenly home.
Zebedee Gatlin was born to the late T. C. and Irene Peters Gatlin in Tyler Town, MS. He moved to New Orleans, LA, where he met and married Carrie Mae Clark on March 14, 1970. To this union was born one son, Antonio, on December 11, 1972. Zebedee also raised his stepson, Michael Clark, at the age of five.
In September of 2003, they relocated to Monroe, LA, where he united with Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. A. B. Davis Johnson, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his two sons, Antonio and Michael (Lisa) of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Reverend Brixie Gatlin (Dorothy Jean) of Westwego, LA; four sisters, Willie Mae, Maxine, Mildred, and Ethel Frances; two granddaughters, Neketa and Jasmine of New Orleans, LA; one grandson, Jason of New Orleans, LA; one goddaughter, Shannon Collins of Monroe, LA; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Gatlin; six sisters, Maggie, Linnie, Maule, Cecial, Ruby, and Wollie Jean; three brothers, L. T., T. J., and Luke; and one grandson, Michael Jr.
