Willie Joseph Bess, son of the late Willie Green and Joe Ann Bess, was born on December 18, 1974, in Monroe, Louisiana. The good Lord called him home November 15, 2023, in Clarks, Louisiana.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended True Vine Baptist Church of Monroe, Louisiana, before he moved away. Willie attended Union Central Elementary and Jefferson Junior High of Monroe, Louisiana, then one year of Wasman before attended the Job Corp of Oklahoma at the age of 16, where he furthered his education to receive his GED. He honed his culinary skills there and used them to cook for various restaurants and for becoming a driver for many companies. He wasn’t blessed with any children but he was surrounded by his nieces and nephews, and he showered them with love. He enjoyed spending time showing off his cooking skills. He was loved by all. He enjoyed playing pool and playing cards with family and friends. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and son that enjoyed the sounds of slot machines and the Dallas Cowboys.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: sister, Sharon Vanessa Bess; brother, John Edward Bess, David Bess (Cora), Maric Bess, Stephanie Renee Bess (Darryl Dunaway), Kenny Ray Ricks, Pemell Ricks, Joe Willie Butler, Leonard (Flappy) Butler, and Bobby Ray Butler; special friend, Rose Wilford; bonus daughter, Kiana Wilford; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by Wayne Bess, Freddie (Kick) Green, Donald Ray Butler, and Susie Butler.
Love from the whole Green family, who he loved dearly. Thanks to a special family, the Moffett family, who loved and cared for Willie.
