Wanda Kay Island

Sister Wanda Kay Island was born on April 15,1960, in Monroe, Louisiana; to the late Mr. Willie T. Island and the late Mrs. Pecola Island. One brother Willie George Island proceeded her in death. She departed this life on July 18,2019, at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was the wife of the late Gary Moore of Farmerville Louisiana. As a youth, Sis Wanda Kay Island accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was united in faith at the St. John Baptist Church. Later in life, she rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and was added to the Farmerville Church of God in Christ family.

She leaves to Cherish her memory: (1) sister, Patricia Moore of Monroe, LA, (1) brother, Curtis (Sharon) Moses, (1) son, Michael A. Island, (2) two daughters, Kwanzia Island, & Yevette Island, (3) grandchildren: Laiken, Valenica, Omarion Island, and soon to be Lil’ girl, Lai’Lynn Michelle Island.

Extended family: Mary Williams Douglas, Veronica (Eric) Jordan, Angie Johnson, Roy Williams Jr., & Helen Ruth Johnson; all of Farmerville, Louisiana. And one very special friend Joey Bilbrew, also of Farmerville, Louisiana.
