Velma Lee Renae Walker was born on May 6, 1989, to the late Barbara Walker Ballard and William PeGross.
Velma departed this life and were given her wings on November 7, 2022. She was the youngest of five siblings. “NaNa,” as everyone called her, was a beautiful, loving person. She attended Richwood High School. In her spare time , she loved to fix hair and also loved to sing and dance. At a young age, she attended church at First House of Prayer under the leadership of Pastor Rosie Edwards.
Velma was the mother of five beautiful children.
Velma was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ballard Walker; father, William PeGross; maternal grandparents, Velma L. and Eddie Millage; paternal grandparents, Mamie PeGross and William PeGross; and brothers, Adolphus Walker and Rodney Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her stepfather, Robert Ballard of West Monroe; five beautiful loving children, Jeniya Walker of Monroe, Kentaisha Walker of Bastrop, Treyvon Walker, Markell Walker, and Elijah Walker of Monroe; seven brothers, Kenneth Walker, Joshua Walker, Brodrick Walker, Sr., Melvin White, Anthony PeGross, William PeGross, Jr., and LeRon Washington; two sisters, Crystal Green and Shanea Pegross; seven aunts, Doris White, Brenda Boyd, Willie B. Ross, Patricia Ross, Sandra Wilson, Barbara PeGross, and Betty PeGross; four uncles, Willie L. Cleveland, Kenneth Wilson, Billy Walker, and Alonzo Pegross; favorite nephews, Broderick Walker, Jr., and Joshua Walker, Jr.; niece, Shaelyn Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
