Thomas “TJ” Jackson, Jr., 49, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. He was born on January 14, 1976, to Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth Jackson in Shreveport, Louisiana.
TJ was the eldest of three siblings known for his quiet strength, fun-loving spirit, and kind heart. He graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1995 and served his country as a proud member of the United States Army. Following his service, he worked at Nabisco until 2008.
In 2003, TJ married his long-time best friend and love of his life, Tamara. Together, they built a beautiful family. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. After medically retiring, TJ devoted his time to his family and loved ones, finding joy in cooking for them and supporting his children in their sporting events and practices.
TJ is survived by his loving wife, Tamara Jackson; children, Joshua, Koren, and Amari; parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Jackson; siblings, Brian Jackson and Tiffany Pendleton; best friend, Roderick Whitaker; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Hattie Jackson, and maternal grandparents, Robert and Ola Mae Washington.
TJ’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to family will never be forgotten.
Special thanks to Dr. James “Jimmy” Smith, MD, at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas, for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during TJ’s time of need. Our family is deeply grateful for their dedication and the comfort they have provided throughout the years.
