Terry LaRoy Dorsey, Jr., affectionately known as "TJ," was born on November 18, 2009, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Angela Dunn and Terry L. Dorsey, Sr. He was lovingly raised by his parents along with his bonus mother, Yolanda Richardson Dorsey, who played a special role in his life.
TJ was a vibrant, outgoing, smart, and hardworking young man who touched the lives of everyone around him. He was known not only for his good energy but also for his emotional intelligence and ability to connect deeply with others. He carried himself with a wisdom beyond his years and was loved for his genuine, spirit and respect for others.
TJ had a strong love for music, enjoying loud beats that filled the streets from the trunk of his car. He also shared a special bond with his dad through working on cars, learning hands-on, and spending time at race tracks, where the sound of engines, "Hermm Hermm," brought him joy. He would often speak with pride and excitement about his dad's fast vehicles, saying, "I'm gonna go get my daddy's truck." Those moments with his dad were meaningful to him and reflected who he was... lively, curious, and full of life.
He shared a close and loving relationship with his dad's uncle, Leroy "Tic" Dorsey, whom he deeply loved. TJ kept his memory close, wearing a chain with his picture as a symbol of that bond. Uncle Leroy preceded him in death, and their connection remains a meaningful part of his story.
TJ leaves to cherish his memory: his brothers, Amier Hill and Sebeyon Hill of Columbia, Tennessee; and sisters, Al'Jerah Jones of Seattle Washington, Shaterricka Hoston of Monroe, Louisiana, Jayliah Harris, Le'Airra Hill-Jackson (Kendrix Jackson), and Ashanti Conway. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of extended family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
