Taras Undre Rodgers Obituary

Taras Undre Rogers was born on January 10, 1966, in Monroe, Louisiana to Routha L. Rodgers and Willie Siller. Taras Rodgers accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized. He was a member of Evening Star Baptist Church growing up. Taras attended Sherrouse Elementary and Carroll High School. He was a carpenter in Monroe for 40 years.

Taras had a good heart. He was a kind and loving son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He loved babysitting his nieces and nephews, Kellyn Grace, Ak’irah, and Conner. They were his special barbers; they helped him shave his head quite often.

Taras loved to cook soul food and pecan candy. Trina called him her “Big Baby Brother.” His favorite song was “Pass Me Over,” he listened to in the mornings with his cousin, La’Shunda, when she would visit. Isaac wants Rushunda and Percilla to know that he is the “Big Brother” now that his two Big Brothers are gone, and that he is in charge, and they need to listen to him.

He was predeceased by: his father, Willie Siller, brother, Donald Rodgers, grandmother, Catherine Rodgers, great-grandmother, Routha Reynolds, and grandfathers, Isiah Rodgers and Willie Thomas.

Taras leaves to cherish his memories: his eight children, five sons, Eugene Potter (Terrisha), Taras Undre Rodgers, Jr., Timothy Rodgers, Marcus Anderson, and Lawerence Williams, all of Monroe, Louisiana, and three daughters, Ta’Rhonda Queen and Tar’Quasica Queen, both of Sacramento, California, and Ashley Williams of Monroe, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Priscilla Rodgers and Tessa Turner, both of Monroe, Louisiana, and Rushundia Rodgers Doublin of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Isaac Charles Turner and Clifton Turner, both of Monroe, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Stella Marie Rodgers of Monroe, Louisiana; two very special friends, Latonya Rodgers (his cousin) and Pamela Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
