She was educated in the Monroe City Schools System.
A Time to Serve
She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend L.B. Jackson. She was a member of Faith Harvest Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend James Earl Jackson, where she remained until the Lord called her to her eternal home.
She served as a homemaker for many years.
A Time to Love
Susizette Nelson loved her family. Se was a devoted and caring mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Although she embraced the task of caring for her family, she found time to help others. It gave her great joy to attend to the personal needs of others.
A Time to Sleep
On August 18, 2020, after a long battle with illness, the angel of silence came and winged her soul into flight from this world of sin, sorrow, pain, and strife. Her journey took her to a land of eternal joy, peace, and rest. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Mae Nelson; her father, Walter Major; her devoted aunt that served as her motherly figure, Bernice Dunn; and her brother, Lonnie Nelson.
A Time to Remember
Forever cherishing her memories: a son, Rodrick Nelson; two sisters, Zelle Major and Kaygel Nelson; eight brothers, Darrell Nelson, Walter Nelson, Aaron Major, Dante Nelson (Demetrius), Dartagnan Nelson, Brian Caine (Sara), Harold Caine, and Buford Nelson (Leslie); a special brother, Kevin Dunn (Tina); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
