Steven Nicholas Newton

Steven Nicholas Newton was born on September 27, 1994 to Lushonnoh Newton Matthews and Steven Carl Holmes.  He passed away on April 30, 2022.

Steven accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Tommy Joe Taylor. 

Steven graduated from Ouachita High School, Class of 2014. He enjoyed cooking, basketball and loved spending time with his kids. He was affectionately known as “Pooh” by his family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Shivers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Lushonnoh Matthews, fathers, Steven Holmes, Grand Prarie, TX and Isaac Matthews, Sr. (Wendy) Hickory, NC, fiancee, LaGena Seay, children, Kendall (PJ) Crump, Avahanna Newton and Aryanna Newton, brothers, Isaac Matthews Jr. (US Navy-Bremerton, WA), Jaelyn Matthews (US Navy-San Diego, CA), Zebedee Welch, Christopher Holmes, Isaliah Warren, Kanden Matthews, sister, Isabella Matthews, grandfather, Glen Williams (Sheila), grandmothers, Catherine Newton and JoAnne Shivers, special cousin, Brandon (B) Newton, special uncle, “Mr. Andra'' Warner and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
