Sterling Henry Coleman was born to Billy Wayne Coleman and Doris Ann Smith-Coleman on March 8, 1988 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. He transitioned to his eternal rest on July 15, 2021 at his home.
His early education was spent at Little Flower Academy and St. Paschal Catholic School. In 2006, He graduated from Excelsior Academy. He furthered his post-secondary education completing two years at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.
At age seven, Sterling accepted Christ at the Mt. Arack Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Wille T. Goree. He participated in the Junior Choir and other youth auxilaries. He and his family later united with the New Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John L. Russell Sr. He served with Men’s Ministry and Youth Ministry. New Antioch later became Greater New Antioch Baptist Church.
Sterling attended and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Rev. William Hairston, Pastor where he was under watch care.
While in Monroe, LA, Sterling was employed by Avis Rental. He moved to Reidsville, North Carolina where he was employed at Brentwood Display Services, Inc. as a Traffic Signal Technician and Safety Coordinator.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Doris Ann Smith-Coleman; father, Billy Coleman; fiancé, Latosha Edwards; special daughter, Savanah Edwards; three brothers: Billy Glass, Baton Rouge, LA, Derrioh Dunn, Monroe, LA and Folando Beard, Fort Hood, TX; five uncles: Frank (Sandra), Grand Rapids, MI, Terrance Smith, DeAnthony Smith, Dennis Coleman, Monroe, LA, Edward Lee Shephard (Alicia), Raleigh, NC; great aunt, Mrs. Loretta Smith-Wilson, God-Brothers, Rev. Greg Jackson, Jr. and Krenish’Drew Matthews; best friend, Marcus Herring; three God-Mothers, Donna Collins-Taylor, Edna Matthews, and Linda Wilson-Jackson; God-Sister, Cidra Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
