On Monday, July 21, 1996, a son, Shun O’neal Reese, Jr., was born to Shun and Courtney Reese, Sr. He was the oldest of their two children. He was smart, talented, hardworking, and had a passion for hunting and mechanics. Shun accepted Christ at an early age. He served as a youth usher at KSMBC.
Shun was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School class of 2014. After high school, he attended Louisiana Delta Community College for welding. In 2016, he began working for DOTD (Department of Transportation and Development) where he was a dedicated worker. Shun was a very loving young man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger. He would greet anyone with his contagious smile ready to lend a helping hand.
He was a loving son, awesome brother, amazing father, phenomenal friend, and an encouraging mentor to the men in his life.
Shun had a great-great-grandmother: Lovie Lee Kelley; a great- grandmother, Maggie Nabors; and a great-grandfather, Howard Reese, Sr., who preceded him in death.
Unfortunately, he departed this life on May 19, 2024, and will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his parents, Shun and Courtney Reese, Sr.; sister, Shania Reese; daughter, Lauve Leigh Reese; friend- in-love, Kierstin Harris; grandparents, Curtis and Carolyn Handy, Jr., Mattie Allen, Thomas and Serena Reese, Sr.; great-grandmother, Queenie Reese; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
