Ruby Nell Puckett

Sister Ruby Nell Puckett departed this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 8:15 PM.

She was the fifth child born of the late Mr. Willie Lee Puckett, Sr., and Lula Mae Carter Puckett in Monroe, Louisiana, on May 26, 1956.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Reverend James Lee. She attended and graduated Delhi High School in 1974. After graduating she moved to Tallulah, Louisiana, and worked as a cook at the TA Truck Stop. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for ten years before moving back to Delhi, Louisiana. While in Delhi she worked at Fred’s Dollar Store and as a direct care worker for many years before recently moving to Monroe.

She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, then under the leadership of Reverend Terry Moore, and currently Reverend Johnny Robinson. She was a faithful member and served under many ministries.

Ruby was loved by many and left an everlasting mark of encouragement and love with most that she came in contact with. She was truly a woman of God’s own heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and most importantly, caring for them. She was funny, honest, loyal, compassionate, and full of love. She will leave her spiritual presence and kindness in the hearts of many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Puckett, Sr., and Mrs. Lula Mae Carter Puckett; special mom, Mary Edmond Puckett; brother, Willie Lee Puckett, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Faye Puckett and JoAnn Puckett; one niece, Charlene Puckett; and three great nephews, Shaquille May, Adrian Gray, and Leroy Stubblefield III.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Tony (Sherry) Puckett of Leesville, LA, Anderson (Abigail) Puckett of Las Vegas, NV, Angela (Frank) Bailey, Timothy (Vershondra) Puckett, all of Monroe, LA, and Phillip (Jurmickia) Puckett of Gould, AR; special children, Orlando (LaShonda) Hawkins and Thomas (Latoya) Hawkins, both of Delhi, LA, and Danielle Toombs of Tallulah, LA; eight sisters, Maxine (Eddie) Carver of Cordova, TN, Ollie Bruce and Tometria Edmond, both of Monroe, LA, Stephanie Puckett of Rayville, LA, Erma (Pat) Smith, Beverly Edmond, Tomika (Eric) Perkins, and Keana Edmond, all of Delhi, LA; three brothers, Robert Puckett of Indianapolis, IN, Kenneth Puckett of Delhi, LA, and Roderick Edmond of Denver, CO; father of her children, Thomas Toombs of Zwolle, LA; twenty-three grandchildren, two granddaughters-in-law, and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
