Rosalind Anita Jackson Cann (ROZ) was born on April 18, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana.
As a child and young adult, she was a member of Zion Traveler Baptist Church in Monroe, where she was baptized by Rev. C.V. Rogers. She received her early education at Little Flower Academy, Carver Elementary, Wossman High School, and Carroll High School.
She later attended Career Technical School, where she earned a diploma in Medical Assistance. She also served as the front desk coordinator before resigning due to an on-the-job injury.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Caretta Ozell Paige and “Mamaw,” her grandfather Eddie Freeman, her father Ernest Jackson, and her mother Ruthie Mae Freeman.
Rosalind leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Jeril Freeman and Katie Freeman, her god-sister Anges Buie, her husband Donells Cann Sr., her daughter Donyelle Cann, and her grandchildren Mace Chisley and Mylie Chisley. She is also survived by her son Orlandus Jackson, her grandson Ladarrius Bradley, her granddaughter-in-law Mionshelela Bradley, and great-grandsons Jodeci Bradley and Avery Bradley.
