It is with great sadness that the family of Rontesha Monique Powell announce her passing on August 23, 2020. Rontesha, affectionately called “Tesha”, was born May 18, 1987. She was a resident of Monroe, La for 33 years. Tesha was a college student at The University of Phoenix looking forward to graduating soon and earning a degree.
Tesha was a family woman, a true woman of God. When it came to her family or people that grew to feel like family, she would give up the shirt off of her back. She was so pure and generous. Tesha was unafraid; you would often find her saying, “Faith over Fear.” A God fearing woman she was! Tesha will be missed deeply by her mom, dad, son, siblings, and nieces and nephews. Her life and legacy will be forever remembered by her son— Tyler Powell, her mother, Linda Taylor, her father, Ronald Powell Sr., and her God-father, Mac Winters. She is also survived and fondly remembered by four siblings, Azilethea Wesley (Gary Wesley), Ronterius Taylor, Maxine Watkins and Ronald Powell Jr. (Keyona Powell); nieces and nephews, Aaliyah Taylor, Keith Briggs, Ja’Maya Watkins, Emmanuel Powell, Arie Powell, Ielayaah Powell, and Iayafaah Powell; and an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends whom she loved.
