Deacon Saulsberry’s Life
Deacon Robert Saulsberry, Sr. was born on March 31, 1947 to Daniel Saulsberry and Ester Thomas-Saulsberry at EA Conway Memorial Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He later joined the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland, I. There, he served as a deacon and was promoted to Deacon Emeritus.
He served in the United States Army. He also worked at Louisiana Training Institute, now in Monroe, Louisiana.
Robert found love on two occasions. He was married to Patricia Anderson Saulsberry, and later, to Jessie Dean Saulsberry.
He passed away on August 11, 2020 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Michael DeWayne Anderson, Rodney Christopher Saulsberry, and Robert Saulsberry, Jr.; two daughters, Sonya Saulsberry and Lavorn Denise Saulsberry; three stepchildren, Kaiwanna Gray, Chasity Gray, and Michael Gray; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
