Romans 8:38-39 KJV
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We celebrate the homegoing of Minister Mary Robinson-McMillian Cook, a Minister of Reconciliation.
Mary R. Cook was born on May 22, 1961. She was a wonderful wife, home-maker, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunty, administrative assistant to her husband, manager, student of the Word, herbal practitioner, cook, and evan- gelistic minister of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Minister Mary Cook received her wings on January 20, 2026, after fighting a good fight.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae Turner and Frank Robinson; brother, Louis Turner; son, Michael W. Robinson; brother, Leonard “Kay Kay” Turner; brothers, Peter James Turner and Paul Turner; and sons, Jimmy Louis McMillian, Jr., and Phillip R. Robinson.
She also leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Reverend Willie Oscar Cook; daughter, LaShondra R. Robinson; sons, John L. Robinson and Marcus L. Robinson; granddaughter, Ta’ Mayjah Robinson; grandson, Tyrese Robinson and Johntez Robinson; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Price; two uncles, Reverend Earnest Holland and Bishop Tyronne Holland; and two special cousins, Mary Jane Crawford and Sheila Carradine.
Mary Cook was the loving wife of Reverend Willie Oscar Cook. She faith-fully raised six children (one girl and five boys). Mary attended Neville High School, but she later got her GED at Robinson Business College. While there, Mary also earned an associate’s degree in Childcare Development with a minor in secretarial skills.
She was a short story writer and worked in the restaurant industry and at News Star Newspaper in Monroe, Louisiana.
Mary was an amazing homeschool parent. She systematically taught her kids the discipline of doing their very best in school and never giving up. Minister Mary kept her family anchored in the Word of God, whether it was supporting the North Louisiana Old Line Baptist Association, Vacation Bible School, Uncle Tyrone Turner’s Ministry, or Sunday Morning Worship services at Greater Free Gift Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, Minister Cook faithfully served Bishop Rodney McFarland, Sr., in the Children’s Sunday School and Women of Faith Ministry. She and Willie Cook ministered in various capacities for the last 30 years.
Also, Mary ministered Christ in Word and Song within her local church, Trishell Apartments, at the Wood Street Dialysis Center, and at Word of Life Faith Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the surrounding community.
Recently, she passionately ministered the Word of God on the Facebook platform to evangelize the message of The Cross to a lost and hurting world.
Minister Mary Cook carried God’s purpose and Kingdom as her primary objective ‘til the day she ascended into the heavens.
I Thessalonians 4:13-14 KJV
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
II Corinthians 5:1 KJV
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
