Percy “Leroy” Smith was born in Caldwell Parish on June 6, 1945, to Hayward and Alma Smith.
He joined Cuba Baptist Church in Bosco, Louisiana, and later became a member at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church.
He enjoyed his daily walks. He was soft-spoken but always got his point across. He lived a fulfilling life as he knew it.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alma and Hayward Smith; brothers, Donamechi Smith and Thomas Smith; and sisters, Hazel Natt and Odie Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, Albert Smith, Hayward Smith, Jr., C. J. Smith (Eleanor), Clarence Smith, Charles Smith, Carl Smith (Ferdess), Bobby Ray Smith (Catherine), William Felton Smith (Janis), and a host of other relatives.
