PAULA D. BROWHOW was born in Monroe, LA, on November 4, 1967, to the late John W. Jones and Pearlie Mae Jones. Paula grew up in the Booker T. Community. She was baptized at an early age under Reverend W. L. Rankins at Orange Hill Baptist Church of Start, LA. She attended Carroll High School in the mid ‘80s where she was a part of the marching band playing the clarinet. She graduated with the illustrious Class of 1988. In 1990, Paula married Willie Browhow and divorced some years after. She worked for Monroe city schools for over ten years as a bus attendant. Paula loved life. She loved traveling, shopping for the latest haul, getting her nails and feet done, and last but not least, cooking and baking. Just ask anybody in the family about her fajitas.
Paula leaves to cherish her memories: her three children, Kenyatta Cotelia Jones-Gardner (Brian A. Gardner), Portia Wilshavia Jones, and Willie James Jones; three grandchildren, Lyric Jones, Juriah Henderson, and Jasion Jones; two sisters, Shaimeka Montgomery and Deborah Simmons (Nathaniel Simmons); one brother, Rodney Jones (Bettina Jones); three favorite cousins, Tonya Burton-Lasley, Katrina Jones, and Jackie Thomas; and six nephews, two nieces, eight aunts, and two uncles.
