Patricia Ann Wade was born on July 16, 1948, and died peacefully on July 21, 2022, with her son and husband by her side. Patricia was married to William Randle in 1973, and they had two children, Demeatress L. Randle (Christina) and Cassandra Renee Randle. Later in life, Patricia married George Wade, Sr., and gained three more sons and a daughter, Derrick Jones (Jacklyn), George Wade, Jr., (DeSheika), Collins Alonzo Wade (Paula), and Monique Jones Scurfield (Norman). George and Patricia were married 31 years. In 2007, her beloved daughter, Cassandra Renee Randle, passed away and Patricia and George welcomed her children into their home. Taquan, Jaquarrius, Tatyana, Patricia, Shania, and LaDell knew their grandparents as second parents. In all, Patricia leaves behind twenty-one grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two Nephews, Willie Ward and James Boyce, and a very special niece, Patricia “Sister” Boyce, and many great-nephews and nieces. She was loved and will be missed by many friends and family.
Things to know about Patricia Ann Wade
Patricia grew up and raised her family in Monroe. She loved her family more than anything in the world. One of her favorite things to do was cook for the family. She made the best tea cakes and pecan candy, and her potato salad was the best ever! She was playful and liked to tease her son and her husband about one thing or another. She was shy but not when it came to football and watching her son play the game. She was so proud of him. Her favorite professional team was the New Orleans Saints. Patricia loved fishing and once broke her foot trying to get to the best fishing spot. She worked many years at ULM most recently in the athletic department and enjoyed being around the players and coaches. They were sad when she decided to retire.
Patricia and George loved their grandchildren. It was hard for Patricia to accept help with them, but eventually she created an entire village and worked closely with, to name a few, Alice Fay and her son, Kirby, and Daphne, Sandra, “Sister,” along with Demetress and Christina, when they moved back to Monroe to help her. They all made it work.
Patricia was never the same after her daughter died. I hope we can all find comfort in knowing she is with Renee right now. They are reunited and happy, and she is no longer suffering the hell that dementia brings. Let us all celebrate her today!
