Nathaniel Carter Obituary

Nathaniel Carter, born on August 30, 1950, in Sterlington , Louisiana, peacefully departed this life on April 27, 2026.

He was a man known for his warm heart, kind-sometimes-heated spirit, and deep love for people. Although he was not a member of a church , he believed in Jesus Christ and lived his life with compassion, generosity, and faith in his own quiet way.

He was preceded in death by six siblings and his beloved parents, Irene Tellis Carter and Leon Carter, Sr., whom he faithfully cared for until their passing. His devotion to his parents reflected the loving and selfless man he was.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Evelyn Carter; their two sons, Lucien Carter (Angel) of Dallas, Texas and Brandon Carter of Memphis TN; along with two daughters, Shantala Epps and Nikki Wade; son, Jeff Wilson; two sisters, Etta Carter Blockson and Herbie Carter; one brother, Leon Carter, Jr (Merline);numerous grandchildren, family members, dear friends, and neighbors who loved him deeply.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—trapping and skinning raccoons, gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time visiting and communing with neighbors. He especially loved children and was well known for giving them small gifts and candy. The neighborhood children adored him, and his kindness leaves lasting memories in their hearts.

He was a friend to many, a loving husband and father, a caring son, and a familiar smile in the community. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on through all those whose lives he touched.
