Mother Patricia Ann Johnson-Bradley Obituary

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live”
John 11:25

A fully contributing and well-spent life was consummated early Saturday morning, February 24, 2024, with the death of Patricia Johnson-Bradley, the first child born to the late Morris and Lucy Johnson on November 13, 1946 in Monroe, Louisiana.

Very early in her life Mother Bradley responded to the call to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Grayson, Louisiana. After completing primary and secondary education in Caldwell Parish and attending Grambling State University in Ruston, Louisiana, she began her career as an Administrative Assistant at the then Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. Later she ventured into a Management career area when she served as a Manager at Johnson Hall Apartments in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

While residing in Monroe, Louisiana she married Albert Bradley and to this union four children were born: Andrea G. Bradley (preceded her in death), Albert Tyron Bradley, Everett Shannon Bradley, and Elise L. Bradley. Later the family moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana.

After the devastating event of hurricane Laura in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Mother Bradley returned to her original home parish, Caldwell and it was at this time that she joined the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland. It was here that her Bible-teaching and grant writing skills were used in service to bring glory to God. Also, her unique oratory skills led to her receiving numerous requests to serve as a guest speaker at various churches.

Mother Bradley gave of her whole self to the purposes and control of the Holy Spirit in her Christian work. Her journey of life was filled with generosity and service to others. She willingly gave God her availability by using her talents and abilities to serve others. Individuals, families and especially children benefited from her spirit of generosity. Along with her courage and her wisdom, her hope and her faith, her generosity was, simply, the best of who she was.

When her health began to fail and during her lengthy illness her caregivers, Patrick Bradley, Brooklyn Bradley, Kortni Bradley, and Simone Kilgore along with other family members gave her support and encouragement. In turn, Mother Bradley filled our lives with happiness and joy that we will carry in our hearts forever. We will never forget our family’s beloved Tricia.

Those left with eternal memories of her love and support are: her sons, Albert Tyron Bradley (Tiffany), Everett Shannon Bradley (Tenesha), her daughter, Elise L. Bradley, and her devoted grandson Patrick R. Bradley who lived with her; two sisters, Barbara Canada and Juanita Johnson, and one brother, Rev. Billy Ray Johnson (Jackie); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
