Mother Mary Lee Green was born on December 29, 1935, to the union of the late Herbert and Lizzie Wilson in Monroe, Louisiana. She was raised by her parents in Columbia, Louisiana, and later resided in Clarks, Louisiana. She departed her earthly mission on June 20, 2024. She loved the Lord and extended her love and compassion to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her faithful walk with the Lord and warm personality.
After completing high school, Mother Green began her career in the 1960s at Saint Mary’s Training School in Kelly, Louisiana, where she served as a special education teacher. In 1970, she began working at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital as a physician assistant. She later began working as a teacher’s aide at the Kelly Elementary School located in Kelly, Louisiana. She also worked as a sitter for various patients under home health care for several years. Mother Green retired in the early 2000s.
Mother Mary Green was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband, Henry A. Green, Sr., “Skeet” in 1954. To this union, two sons were born. She adopted and raised one daughter. She stayed faithful as a Mother of the Morning Star Baptist Church until her earthly mission was completed, and now, she rests in the arms of the Lord.
Mother Mary Lee Green was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Green, Sr., “Skeet;” parents, Herbert Wilson, Sr., and Lizzie Wilson; two brothers, Herbert Wilson, Jr., and Clinton Wilson; and grandson, Cody Green.
She is survived by her two sons, Henry A. Green, Jr., (Yolanda) of Clarks, LA, and Donald T. Green (Marilyn) of Columbia, LA; one adopted daughter, Lillie Green Williams (Keith) of Clarks, LA; one brother, Robert Wilson of Dallas, TX; one sister-like relative, Deloris Crockett; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones
