McKinsey O’Steen was born April 16, 2003, in Natchez, Mississippi, to Lashaundria O’Steen and McKinsey Bowman. McKinsey departed this earthly life on November 6, 2023, at his residence. McKinsey was baptized on June 11, 2023, and became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ferriday, Louisiana, pastored by Reverend Theodore Walker.
McKinsey was a happy young man. McKinsey loved his family and family gatherings. McKinsey loved to watch the movie called “Enough.” McKinsey graduated from Block High School on May 20, 2021. McKinsey loved to fight with his sister, Keri Asia, and was quick with his left hand.
McKinsey leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Lashaundria O’Steen of Jonesville, Louisiana; dad, McKinsey Bowman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters, Keri Asia Davis and Faith Finister of Jonesville, Louisiana; one brother, McKinsey Bowman, Jr., of Alexandria, Louisiana; Kevin Davis, who raised from the age of seven like he was his own; godfather, John Earl Wilson; one Godbrother, Kingston Jones; one godsister, Von’tasia Daniels; grandmothers, Evelyn Walker (Theodore), Beulah Bowman of Jonesville, Louisiana; grandfather, Willie Green, Jr.; great- grandfather, Willie Green, Sr.; favorite aunties, Shamicka O’Steen, Doris Bowman; special uncle, Jamereon O’Steen; and favorite great-uncle, Johnny O’Steen.
McKinsey had his own special bond with Summer Higgs, a special cousin who treated McKinsey more like her brother. McKinsey leaves a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. McKinsey is preceded in death by his two great-grandparents, Joe and Laura O’Steen, Loretta Green, and his grandfather, W.C. Bowman.
