Mr. McHenry Jackson, Sr., was born on May 11, 1937, to the late William and Lizzie Jackson. He was the 14th of 16 children.
McHenry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very early age at Bright Oak Baptist Church. He received his education from Monroe Color High School, which is known as Carroll High School. McHenry Jackson met and married the love of his life, Doris Elmore Jackson, for 62 years and to this union seven children were born. McHenry was a long-time devoted bus driver and supervisor at Jack Hayes Elementary; he retired in 2005 a er working 40+ years.
McHenry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lizzie Jackson; daughters, Sharon Neal and Gwendolyn Washington; son, McHenry Jackson, Jr.; grandson, Emanuel Neal; and great-grandson, Kevin Neal, Jr.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving daughters, Sandra Jackson, Octavia Goss (Johnny) of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Pamela Johnson (Melvin) of Bellevue, NE; two son, Montrel Jackson of Dallas, Texas, and Fredrick Muse of West Monroe, Louisiana; one sister, Barbara Johnson (David) of Monroe, Louisiana; one brother, James Jackson of Chicago, Illinois; 14 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
