Mary Ella Manning was born on October 12, 1963, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Hattie V. Manning. She embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and belonged to the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church.
Mary was the youngest of eleven siblings, including John M. Franklin (deceased), Henry Manning (Sara Ann), Dennis Manning (deceased), Frankie Manning (deceased), Joseph Manning (deceased), Shelton Manning (deceased), Annie Jefferson, Bonnie Franklin, Bertha Jenkins, and Henretta Scott (deceased). Mary was cherished by many for her loving spirit and known as the ‘fun auntie.’
She leaves behind: her beloved partner, Robert Reynolds; eight children, Kenneth Manning, Daniel Manning, James Manning, Bianca Manning, Ashley Manning, Dennis Manning, Jazmine Manning, and Henry Manning; stepdaughter, Cynthia Robinson; Goddaughter, Royal Booker; six grandchildren, Marci, DJ, JD, Jaylen, Ja’Zayiah, and Ja’Zhair; as well as five close friends, Bert Manning, Jackie Wright, Janice Ruff, Sheree Walker, Laura Eleam, Patrrick Martinn, and Lois Potts along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was the life of every party and spread love and joy wherever she went. Her unforgettable phrase was “whatever she said once, she can say again since she doesn’t have teeth to bite her tongue.” She had a strong personality, welcomed everyone with open arms, and never hesitated to express her opinions. Mary was a selfless and compassionate person who always put others first. She was the rock of the Manning family, and her passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt. Her infectious laughter and captivating dance moves will be terribly missed, but her legacy as an extraordinary mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to countless people will live on forever.
