Mary Ann Lopez, age 62, was born in Monroe, Louisiana on May 8, 1959 to the late Willie and Vadelia Brown. She resigned her mortal life and transitioned to eternity on January 22, 2022 with her sons by her side.
She is survived by her three children, who made up the entirety of her world and carry on her legacy: Gerald (age 42), Mateo (age 33), and Armando (age 31). She is also survived by five grandchildren: Josiah, Addisyn, Isis, Ciel, and Selena. Mary was predeceased by her husband Jose Maria Lopez in 1993.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was an active member of the New Bright Star Baptist Church (Reverend Johnny Everette, Pastor) in Monroe, LA at the time of her passing. Mary served passionately for years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to provide advocacy for a children under the jurisdiction of the courts due to abuse or neglect. She also held a special place in her heart for those in the twin cities who experience homelessness.
