Sister Mary Lee Meadows was born on January 24, 1943 to the late James Edmond and the late Mary Myles. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Saint John Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.
Sister Mary loved to cook and sing. Spending time with her family, cooking, and listening to her children sing brought her so much joy.
She transitioned to her heavenly home on May 14, 2021 at the Glenwood Regional Hospital in West Monroe, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her loving companion of 50 years, Mr. Willie Lee Puckett, Sr.; one son, Willie Puckett, Jr.; one sister, Sister Nettie Williams; and one brother, Albert Myles.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Rodrick Edmond and Kenneth Puckett, both of Delhi, Louisiana; and Robert Puckett (JoAnn) of Indiana; nine daughters, Stephanie Miller of Rayville, Louisiana; Beverly Edmond (Alex) of Bayton, Texas; Tomika Perkins (Eric), Keana Edmond, Ruby Puckett, and Erma, all of Delhi, Louisiana; Tometria Edmond (Jovacus) of Monroe, Louisiana; Maxine Carver (EF) of Memphis, Tennessee; and Ollie Bruce of Monroe, Louisiana; five sisters, Bertha James of Denver, Colorado; Maybelle Owens of Winnsboro, Louisiana; Helen Washington and Debra Martin (Richard) of Delhi, Louisiana; and Vicky Loyd (Robert) of Monroe, Louisiana; four brothers, John Meadows (Ruth) and Cleveland Myles (Sharon), both of Dallas, Texas; Thurman Myles and Lavell Myles, both of Delhi, Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren, Dennis, Curdesha, Ziesha, TraZavion, JaMarious, DeeAddra, Nacya, Quamesia, Octavious, Emonee, Tre, Taylor, Jimmy, and Rodrick, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, a special niece, Sandra Bruce, and special daughter, Willette Horne. Sister Mary also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and many family friends and loved ones to cherish her sweet memories.
