“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside still waters.”
Psalm 23:1-2
On Friday, October 13, 2023, at 11:04 AM, God whispered to Maggie and said, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant. Come home, my child.” Maggie Lea Collins Conley was born on May 6, 1946, to the late Sam Collins and the late Lealer Jones Collins of Wildsville, Louisiana.
Sister Conley accepted Christ at 11 years old on July 19, 1957, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, and joined Olive Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Reginald, Sr. Sister Conley was a faithful usher and served in other departments of the church. After Sister Conley’s husband passed away, she decided to move closer to family, and she made her way to Monroe, Louisiana, and joined Rose of Sharon Baptist Church under the leader of Reverend Dr. A. B. Davis, Sr., and remained a member until her death. Sister Conley graduated from Sevier High School in Ferriday in May of 1964.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Odessa Collins Wilson and Hilda Collins; and brother, Hubert Collins. She leaves to cherish her memory: her four sisters, Clara Seals, Reverend Dr. Ruth Collins-Brown of Monroe, Louisiana, Helen Collins of Dallas, Texas, and Patricia Humphries of Sicily Island, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
