Mae Bertha Hathorn was born on May 22, 1949, in Lake Providence, LA, to the union of Alice and William Hathorn in East Carroll Parish. Miss Hathorn confessed Christ at the age of twelve at Mount Wade M. B. Church. Mae Hathorn received her early education at Adams Elementary. She graduated from Griffin G. W. High School in 1967. She later attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
Mae Hathorn has been a faithful servant in the Lord's church. A true trailblazer, she founded the gospel quartet group, "The Heavenly Stars." She served as Assistant Pastor of Progressive M. B. C. for many years and later founded and pastured Divine International Powerhouse Ministries. Mae Cullins wore many hats: evangelist, psalmist, seamstress, spiritual
mother, and faithful church member. She was a member of Miracle Center Church in Monroe, LA, until her passing.
Mae leaves behind to cherish her memory: four daughters, Jacqueline Cullins (Christopherson Williams) of Greenville, NC; Etta Cullins, Morria Cullins, and Precious Cullins of Monroe, LA; two sons, Kenneth Hathorn of Monroe, LA; and Reginald Cullins of Indianapolis, IN; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mae Hathorn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice and William Hathorn of East Carroll Parish, LA; one brother, Leroy Carr of Detroit, MI; three sisters, Marvelean Brown, Erma Graham of Detroit, MI, and Etta Hunter of Lake Providence, LA; Bertha Bell of Detroit, MI; Rosa Crocket of Epps, LA; William Hathorn of McComb, MS; and Clifon Hathorn of Carrollton, TX; a special cousin, Wiley Toston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
