Lucile White McCall was born to the late Nellie Mae Jolly and Tom White on September 6, 1944 and was reared by Lois Jolly Sr., in Warden, Louisiana.
Lucile was educated at Eula D. Britton in Rayville, LA and Esther Toombs High School in Delhi, LA. She was a woman of many skills and spent the majority of her life using her God-given talents as a seamstress and ultimately retired from Berry Plastics in Monroe, LA. She was a member of New Delhi Chapter #75 OES and Heroines of Jericho Alice J. Clark Court #46 PHA.
She accepted Christ at an early age, in August of 1953, under the leadership of Reverend H. P. Donaldson, and joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Warden, LA. She served and led the choir for many years and became a Mother of the church under the leadership of Reverend Emanuel Jones, Sr.
She joined in matrimony with Solomon McCall, Jr. and bore four sons - Lee (Marie) White, Lonnie Tucker, Lorenzo (Gwen) McCall, LaQuincia (Ericka) McCall; three daughters - Michelle McCall, Nandeaner McCall McDowell, and Donzella (Dennis) McCall Lane.
On April 15, 2021 Lucile departed from this earth. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers: Willie Peyton and Lois Jolly, Jr as well as two special friends: Ms. Edna Morrison and Mr. Jerry Cotton.
She leaves to mourn two sisters – Barbara Peyton and Jennie Nell Jolly and one brother Charles Jolly, 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, three special friends: Ms. Della Goldman, Ms. Dorothy Green, and Ms. Lou Jarratt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lucile was a mother to many, a friend to all and never met a stranger. She will forever be missed and will always live in our hearts.
