Louise Moore Green, age 95, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on August 7, 2024. Louise was born on August 2, 1929, in Alto, LA, to John Moore and Janie Starr Moore. She was later adopted by William Neal, Sr. and Alice Neal. She met and fell in love with William Green, Sr., and entered into holy matrimony on December 25, 1947. To this union, six children were born, John, William Jr., Lula, Robert, Patricia, and Ronald.
Louise was loving, kind, caring, and a terrific baker. She loved her family and grands very much. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Cuba Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA, under the leadership of Reverend R. L. Teats. She moved to Monroe and was the first member to join Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Cleophas Simmons and presently under the leadership of Reverend Tommie J. Taylor, where she served faithfully until her health failed.
Louise attended school at Augusta and Winnsboro High School. Louise worked at the Children's Clinic for several years and later became employed at St. Francis Medical Hospital for 22 years in the housekeeping department.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her three children, Robert L. Green (Zenna) of Washington, D. C., Patricia G. Zeigler (Willie) of Monroe, LA, and Ronald D. Green, Sr., (Marilyn) of Monroe, LA; five adopted sisters, Rosie Caston (Eddie) of DeRidder, LA, Melissa Johnson (Louis) of Wisner, LA, Velma Neal Brown, Ola M. Neal, and LaTanga Blackson (Kenneth), all of Winnsboro, LA; two adopted brothers, Arthur L. Neal, Jr., Newelton, LA, and Williams H. Neal, Jr., of Winnsboro, LA; and a host of other family and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, John Moore and Janie Starr; two brothers, Theotis Holmes and Columbus Holmes; husband, William Green, Sr.; two sons, John Green (Coon) and William Green, Jr. (Joe); and one daughter, Lula Mae Green.
