Brother Lorenzo Shelley was born to the proud parents, the late Birdie Blair and the late John Henry Shelley on November 22, 1940 in Cornerstone, Arkansas.
Lorenzo Shelley confessed Christ and was baptized in January 2012. He was a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Somerset, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Smith, where he remained until his death.
Lorenzo attended school in Altheimer, Arkansas. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1960. He worked at the Nevada Test Site for many years and then went on to work in construction until he retired in 1988.
Lorenzo was united in Holy Matrimony to Corine Ford Shelley on March 8, 1968. Lorenzo and Corine moved to Louisiana in 2011.
As time passed he was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie Blair, father, John Henry Shelley, step-mother, Katherine Shelley, three brothers, Leon Shelley, Jimmy C. Scott and Robert Jones.
Early Thursday morning, February 25, 2021, Lorenzo was called to rest. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Corine Shelley. Three sons, Sylvester (Claudine) Green, from Washington State, Alonzo Jones, Wallace (Patricia) Jones, two daughters, Linda(Samuel) Williams and Latisha Marie Jones (Grand Daughter) all of Las Vegas, NV, four brothers, Gregory Scott, Willie Scott, Clinton Scott and Clarence (Naomi) Atkinson, all of Chicago, IL, four sisters, Joyce (Frank) Eaton, from Houston, TX, Bobbie Jean Scott, Latisha Scott and Allie (Tecumseh) Scott all of Chicago, IL, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Raymond Gray, from Las Vegas, NV, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and well-wishers.
