Laura Bell Thomas Finley was born to the late Louis and Mattie Lee Davis Thomas on May 17, 1938, in Franklin Parish. She accepted Christ at an early age. She returned to her humble roots and joined the Epps Church of God in Christ, where she remained faithful under the leadership of the late Elder Charles Stevenson, Sr., and now present Leader, Pastor Johnny Hedgemon, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Sylvia Finley, and a devoted son, James Finley.
Laura leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Charles (Nelrose) Finley, Ruby Ann Williams, Mattie (John) Finley, and Renee Thomas, all of Delhi, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Felica Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kartesha (Quincy) Gardner of Bossier City, Louisiana; Dallas Calhoun of Texas; Erin (Latrone) Smith of Monroe, Louisiana; Kelvin Finley of Phoenix City, Alabama; and Lanita Washington and LaKendra Finley, both of Delhi, Louisiana; twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; five siblings-of-love, Erma Gray, JoAnna Thomas, Joy Broadus, Richard King & David Rundell, Sr.; one-son in-love, Michael Garrison; six daughters-of-love, Glenda (Paul) Collins, Melinda Jones, Deborah Thomas-Fousseni, Bobbie Ross, Sondra (Darnell) Swan and Doreen Abrams; two grandchildren-of-love, Derickia Antley and Sharice Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
