On December 31, 2020, Larry Wayne Taylor, Sr. died peacefully in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was 72 years old.
Larry, Sr. was born January 24, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated from Martin Behrman Senior High School. He attended Northwestern State College.
Larry, Sr. was a friend to all and did all he could to help those he called friends. He never met a stranger when he could strike up a conversation. He loved the New Orleans Saints, win or lose. He loved to hunt and fish when he could. He was an avid shooter when his passion allowed him. He could shoot the ears off a target at 25 yards. He loved his horses and working with them in general. His favorite horse he had was called Gunsmoke. He worked his whole life at Lincoln Bank, Central Bank, various railroad companies, and Bumper-to-Bumper Auto Parts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosie Lee Taylor and Dennis Ellwood Taylor.
Larry, Sr. is survived by his wife, Rita Parker Taylor; his children, Larry Taylor, Jr., Daniel Parker, Dona Rose Watson, Jenny Hawsey, Perry Rose, Melisa Whitcomb, Eric Rose, Phillip Parker, and Tonya Guidry; his brothers, Kent, Bruce, and Jerry; and his sister, Beth. Larry also leaves 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
