Larry Donnell Hobson, 73, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on March 17, 2025.
Larry Hobson was born in Monroe, Louisiana on August 27, 1951, to Ruby Bell Jackson and William Hobson, Sr. Larry lived and enjoyed an eventful childhood growing up with his eleven siblings. Larry attended Carroll High School and was employed by Georgia Paci c-Packaging. Unknown to many, Larry was a popular and well-trained hairstylist. Although he was one of the most kindhearted men you’d ever meet, he didn’t bite his tongue about anything.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Bell Hobson; William Hobson, Sr.; and siblings, Nathaniel Jackson, Ronald Hobson, Gregory Hobson, Juanita Hobson, Demetrius Jackson, Jeanette Hobson, and Darnell Jackson, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Hobson; loving daughters, Brianana Hobson and Nikki Hobson; two bonus sons, Terenee Danzie (Mary) and Frank Wright (Sammie); grandchildren, Azalia, Brianna, and Christopher; siblings, William “Zip” Hobson, Jr., Donald Ray Hobson, and Freddie Lee Hobson; nieces with whom he shared a special bond, Sonya Jackson Landrum (Vincent), Michelle Jackson-Olowu (Olufemi), and Tonia Hobson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and bonus nieces, Qanique Payne, Raneshia Strong, and Ra’Keria Davis.
