In divine mercy, love, and wisdom, Judy Young passed peacefully into eternal life at Cornerstone Rehab Center on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Judy was born on June 25, 1960, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Jessie James Young, Sr., and Lucille Hardman Young.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roderick Jamal; brother, Lee Otis Young; and sister, Ethel June Stewart.
Judy attended school at Wossman High School and Southern University. At a very early age, Judy accepted Christ as her personal savior. She served faithfully under the leadership of Reverend Strickland, until death. Judy enjoyed cooking her buttermilk pies and pound cakes, calling her grandchildren, and talking smack with her best friends, Latonya and Jackie. She gave freely to others without any regrets. She will definitely be missed.
Judy leaves to celebrate her life: one son, James R. Blackson; seven grandchildren, Ja’Myra Green, James Blackson, Jr., Jamion Blackson, Jada Blackson, Jamerson Bryant, Jayceon Blackson, and Jaianni Sims; siblings, sisters, Etta Joyce Young and Jodie Young, and brothers, Vincent Young, Jesse James Young, Jr., Calvin Young, Kenneth Young, and Andre Young; one special niece, Ednique Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
