Johnie Gulledge, Junior was born on August 8, 1929, in Delhi, Louisiana, to mother, Gertrude Cook Gulledge (Jan 21,1900–Aug 10, 1970) and father, Johnie Gulledge, Sr. (Oct 1, 1900–Aug 2, 1989) who were both born in Mangham, Louisiana.
Johnie Gulledge was born working on a cotton farm, but he still completed fourth grade. He was later drafted as an Engineer and Infantryman into the Army and became a Korean War Veteran at only 24 years old.
He held many other trades, including automotive mechanic and carpenter, just to name a few.
Johnie Gulledge had siblings: Rivers, Walter, Olten, Mamie,Marie, Evans, Bernice, Mary Alice, Little Gertrude, and Herbert.
He is survived by siblings, Albert, and sister-in-law, Mattie.
Johnie was a widower to spouse, Billy Joanne Patterson Gulledge (July 2, 1936–May 7, 2015), from Lexington, Missisippi, and was preceded in death by his grandchild, Demearle.
He is survived by: his two daughters, Helen Ruth Gulledge and Jennifer Lowe; only son, Dewayne Gulledge; grandchildren, Twalla, Yolanda, Anthony, Corey, Brian, Winston, Joseph Jr, and Julius; and great-grandchildren, Deshawn, Chevonna, Taneisha, Deontae, Marqueze, Nyair, Daveona, Briana, Leonzae, Joseph III, Justice, Jayce, and Jonah.
