Brother Jonathan Terrell McFarland, Sr., was born to Oliver and Marilynn McFarland on January 12, 1981, in Monroe, Louisiana.
He was baptized at Union Valley Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Jonathan graduated from Crowville High School in 1999. He later graduated from the United Theological Seminary in Monroe, Louisiana, earning a Master’s Degree in Theology.
He enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he served for 27 years.
Jonathan was employed with Union Pacific Railroad in January 2014, where he remained employed until his passing.
Johnathan was a member of Alpha Lodge No. 9, Free and Accepted Masons, PHA of Monroe, Louisiana, where he served as second in command as the Senior Warden of the lodge.
He was united in holy matrimony to Betty Henry on June 11, 2005, and to this union one child was born.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Betty; son, Jonathan Terrell McFarland II (JT) of Monroe, LA; father and mother, Oliver and Marilynn McFarland of Baskin, LA; two brothers, Rodney (Tausha) of Alvin, TX, and Quentin of Jonesboro, LA; two sisters, Whitney of Ruston, LA, and Sharilynn of Jackson, MS; one godson, Isaiah McFarland of Mangham, LA; grandmother, Lizzie Wilmore Coleman; mother-in-law, Barbara Henry. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
