Obituary

Joan Wilhite Stream began her life journey on February 7, 1951. She was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, by her late parents, Lillie Lee Wilhite and John Wilhite, who preceded her in death.

Joan had several siblings, including two brothers and three sisters who preceded her in death; Jonny Lee Wilhite, Walter Wilhite, Luretha Little, Maggie Jenkins, and Linda Lucille Hamilton. She leaves behind cherished memories with her remaining siblings; Emma Burks, Sammy Dunaway (Leon), Dell Evans, Gussie Ann Wilhite, and Sherryl Renae Boyce. She also leaves dear memories with her aunts, Cecilia Washington and Viola Dixon. Not only was Viola an aunt to Joan, but she was also her godmother as well.

She met and married the love of her life, her late husband, William Stream, Jr. The couple moved to Oakland, California, and lived there for many years. They extended their family having three wonderful children altogether.

Joan Stream leaves behind beloved memories with her three children, Victoria Stream-Johnson (Steven), William Stream III (Lena), and Cecelia Stream; grandchildren, William Stream IV, Ezzard Lamison, Anthony Stream, Nina Stream, Geryna Jones, Olivia Johnson, Cameron Nears, and Alex Johnson; and greatgrandchildren, Kassidy Lamison, William Stream V, Nylaha Lamison, and Keyana Stream.

For many years, she worked as a CNA and was a Foster parent to many. She loved traveling and she frequently visited Texas, Oklahoma, and California. In her later years, Joan was a member of the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. Throughout her life she demonstrated true love through her actions. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend to many, and an amazing cook. She indeed was a God-fearing woman.

On April 7, 2023, Mrs. Joan Stream was called home, completing her life assignment at Alameda Health and Wellness in Alameda, California. Joan provided motherhood and unconditional love all around for her family. Forever will she be remembered for her soultouching and loving ways toward her family, friends, and anyone who crossed her path during her lifetime.
