Obituary of Jessie Mae Mack
 

The life journey of Jessie Mae began in Utility, Louisiana, on August 2, 1935. She was born to proud parents Laura Bell and Charlie Jackson, and was the only child born to this union.
 

Jessie Mae received her formal education in Catahoula Parish in Jonesville, Louisiana. She accepted Christ at a young age at New Mount Olive Baptist Church.
 

Jessie Mae met and married Glosper Bowan Sr., and together they were blessed with six children. Later, she married Johnnie Mack Sr., and one child was born to this union. Together, they also raised Johnnie's two older children.
 

Throughout her life, Jessie Mae was a hard worker who gave her best wherever she served. She worked at Edward's Café as a cook and assembly line worker at J.M. Chicken Poultry Plant. But the work that brought her the greatest joy was at St. Mary's Residential Community, a home for children with special needs, where she served as an attendant. Jessie Mae had a special love for children, and caring for them came naturally to her. She welcomed them with kindness, patience, and a heart full of love.
 

In 1987, Jessie Mae made the heartfelt decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California to be near her daughter and help care for her grandchildren. Her family was dear to her, and she willingly offered her love, time, and support whenever they needed her. Never forgetting the importance of her spiritual walk, she joined The House of Prayer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Jeff Barber, who was also her cousin.
 

On October 24, 1993, Jessie Mae united with Gethsemane Christian Love Baptist Church, a church founded by her father, the late Pastor Charlie Jackson. For 33 years, she remained a faithful and devoted member, serving with dedication under the leadership of the late Pastor Rev.

Jessie Mae's love for the Lord was shown through her faithful service and active participation in ministry. She served on the Mother's Board and as the Women of Faith Ministry Director. She had a willing heart, always striving to please God and encourage others in their spiritual journey.
 

On Friday, June 12th, early morning, an Angel of Mercy stopped by Mother Jessie's hospital room and she went to give an account of her stewardship, moving from Labor to Reward.
 

Her parents and her husband, brother Arthur James Bell, sister Marie Hall, son Roger Bowman, grandson Jeremy Mack, sons-in-law: Alex Coats and Paul Persley, all preceded her in death.
 

Jessie Mae leaves to cherish her loving memories Her Children: Glosper Bowman Jr, Charlie Bowman, (Mary, Patricia Coats, Debra Persley, Elvis Bowman, Jimmy Mack, John Willie and Irene Robinson, Brenda Bowman (Daughter-In-Law), her siblings: Josephine Jones, Wendell Bell, Curtis Shavers and Artermeise Jackson -Merle; 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. God Sister Ann Jackson; Goddaughters: Pamela Johnson and Barbara Makell; Devoted Sister friend Connie Godboult. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and the entire Gethsemane Christian Love Church family.
