Jarvis Ledon Menyweather was born on February 9,1960 to the late James Menyweather, Jr. and Bertha Henderson Menyweather in Monroe LA. He was the third of five children.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. W.C. Harrison at Bright Oak Missionary BC. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Monroe City Schools and graduated from Carroll HS in May 1978. He continued his education at Grambling State University and graduated in May 1983 with a Bachelors’ of Science degree in Engineering Technology. He became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc in 1984, he was a member of the 32nd Degree United Supreme Council, Shriner Jomadi Temple 173 and was a Veteran of the US Army. He retired from Graphic Packaging formerly Riverwood Corporation. He was a hard worker and believed in providing for his family. Jarvis was a man of strong will and character. He loved collecting and restoring antique cars. He found joy in riding horses, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He also loved to laugh and joke with family and friends. Although Jarvis battled illness for a short time, he fought a good fight as he was surrounded by his children and family. Earth knows no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Jarvis Ledon Menyweather will truly be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father James Menyweather, Jr., and brother Marlin Dewayne Menyweather. Jarvis leaves to cherish his memories his two sons: Bryon Hubbard, Jarvis LeDante Menyweather, and one daughter: Candace Neal, of Austin TX, a loving mother, Bertha Lee Henderson Menyweather , three brothers, Kenny (Linda) Menyweather of Monroe, LA , Keith (Cristin) Menyweather and Kurt (Tricia) Menyweather of New Orleans, LA , six grandchildren, his former spouse, Jeanell Neal of Dallas, TX; a Special friend: Roberta Wade, and host of aunts, uncles, nieces , nephew, cousins other relatives and friends.
