James Ray Kelly, Sr.

Brother James Ray Kelly, Sr. was born in Delhi, Louisiana on September 19, 1966, into the union of the late Maggie Phillips Kelly Downs and Andrew Jackson Kelly, Sr. James was proceeded in death by his parents Maggie Kelly Downs, Andrew Kelly, Sr., and Willie Mac Downs.

James Kelly Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He accepted Christ at a youthful age and was baptized by the late Reverend Arthur Dixon at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Delhi, Louisiana.

James Kelly, Sr. married his childhood sweetheart, Glenda Johnson Kelly, on March 23, 1989. He graduated from Delhi High School in May of 1984 and later graduated from Hines Junior College in Mississippi with an Associate Degree in Nursing-RN. James worked as a registered nurse and shortly thereafter became a Real Estate Investor. As a nurse he received many letters of gratitude for his outstanding patient care and professionalism from patient’s families and thanking the establishment for having such a wonderful, knowledgeable person on staff.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory:  loyal and loving Wife:  Glenda Kelly; three very close and loving sons:  Derrick Kelly (Toccuara); Julian Kelly; James Kelly, Jr. all of Delhi, Louisiana: one loving brother: Andrew Kelly, Jr. (Rose) of Delhi, Louisiana: five supportive and loving sisters:  Linda Kelly Stubblefield of Shreveport, Louisiana; Carolyn Kelly Jones (Danny) of Monroe, Louisiana; Wanda Kelly Reynolds (Bobby) of Killeen, Texas; LaSonna Kelly Harmon of Atlanta, Georgia and; Linda Downs of Delhi, Louisiana: three loving  grandchildren he adored immensely; Azariah Choclin, Peyton Aubree Collins, and Kristoff Devion Kelly. James also leaves to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
