James Carroll, most knew him as “Unk,” “J. W. Ayne,” “Fatboy Slim,” “JDub,” and “Wayne,” was born on February 23, 1968, to Everliner Carroll. Wayne was a jack of many trades. He laid floors, he did demolishing, drawing music, with a bit of DJing. He loved to cook. He thought he was the magic chef. Emeril didn’t have nothing on Wayne. He made the best butter milk chicken ever. He worked for Piccadilly for a number of years, and before his health began to fail, he was employed with his nephew, Lamond Carroll, One Stop Shop mobile detailing.
Wayne accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church. He attended Carroll Junior and High schools. He was a kind and gentle giant who loved people and would give you his last.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Everlinen Carroll; sisters, Mary Lee Brown and brother-in-law, Albert Brown, and Jackqueline Smith; and nephew, Willie Carroll, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his two sons, Caleb and James of St. Paul, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Aomani, Kehlani Williams, and Ocean Carroll, all of St. Paul, Minnesota; dear and devoted companion, Annie Robinson of Monroe, Louisiana; sisters, Francine Gibson (LeeAron) of Houston, Texas, Shirley Fairley of Detroit, Michigan, Debra Williams, and Margorie Carroll of
Monroe, Louisiana; two brothers, Willie Carroll (Pattie) of Willingboro, New Jersey, and Fredrick McLaurin of Austin, Texas; two special nephews, Hammond Carroll of Monroe, Louisiana, and Noksi Carroll of Houston, Texas; one special niece, Tabitha Brown of Monroe, Louisiana; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, and good, good friends.
