Jacqueline "Jackie" Hollins-Woods Obituary

II Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

On Sunday evening, January 15, 2023, at 5:15, our beloved Jacqueline James Woods quietly entered into eternal rest with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jacqueline James was born on August 12, 1946, in Lismore, Louisiana, to the late Robert Hollins and Theresa Hollins.

Jacqueline was baptized at an early age and joined the Ackland Creek Baptist Church. Jacqueline was a member of Ackland Creek where she was chairman of the kitchen ministry and was also a member of the usher ministry, where she served until her health began to decline.

Jacqueline graduated from Jonesville Consolidated High School in 1964 and attended Grambling College. Jackie later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she was employed at Goldblatt’s Department Store and Spiegel Store. She later moved back home and was employed at Philips Department Store until it closed. Jacqueline was later employed by Catahoula Parish School Board until her disability retirement. Jacqueline was married to the late Louis Barber and later remarried to the late Huey Woods.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her daughter, Cassandra Faye Tolliver; her son, Cedric Barber; her parents, Robert and Theresa Hollins; sister, Shirley Everett; and brothers, Robert Hollins, Jr., and Donald Hollins.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her sweet memories: her daughter, Sharon Hollins of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Kevin Barber of Jonesville, Louisiana; sisters, Loria Hollins of Jonesville, Louisiana, Ernestine Fagan of Flint, Michigan, and Lottie Marsch of Texas; one brother, Daniel Hollins (Linda) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; aunt, Josie Benson of Chicago, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous children who affectionately called her “Grandma Jackie;” special friends, Mary Davis, Mickey Proctor, Brenda Fisher, and Gladys West; lifelong friends, Cora McClendon, Eleanore Payne, and Roosevelt Savage; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
