Jaborris Rhy’him Deshaun Simpson was born on November 19, 1999, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Monica Simpson and Jermaine Lamont Martin of Little Rock, Arkansas.
In addition to his beloved daughter, Jhersí Rhyiana Simpson, Jaborris was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Bertha Mae Simpson; grandmother, Evelyn Ringo; grandfather, Loyd Adams; and niece, Cailee Brielle Williams.
He was baptized at New Covenant Christian Center Church under Overseer Peggy Moore and Pastor Orlando Freemont, where he sang in the youth choir and was a proud member of the stomp team (P.U.S.H. Boys). Jaborris played football for the YMCA from ages 4–11 and continued playing at Richwood Middle School and High School. Because of his talent and drive, he earned the nickname “OJAY.”
A graduate of Richwood High School Class of 2018, Jaborris later relocated to Houston, Texas, where he worked for the Harris County Toll Road Authority as a toll collector. A dedicated Denver Broncos fan, he especially admired Peyton Manning.
Jaborris was a well-mannered, respectful young man who deeply loved his family, especially his mother. He later met Tab’Brea Blackson (Simpson), and together they shared a beautiful daughter, Jhersí Rhyiana Simpson. Their bond was inseparable, and they were building a life full of love and purpose.
Family meant everything to Jaborris. He cherished time with his siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his grandmother, Gladys Simpson; great-aunt, Marin Simpson; aunts, Lakeisha Simpson of Shreveport, LA, Kenya Simpson, Miranda Simpson, and Yolanda Simpson; and one uncle, Orlando Simpson; his siblings, Brittany Williams (Clifton), Monterius Simpson, Jaharri Simpson, Jerlesha Travis, Nijia Young, Kamryn Martin, and Jordyn Martin, and one stepbrother, Jacorian Neal; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts; one special grandmother, Ora Lee Drungo; a close circle of friends who were like brothers, Silarrious Brown (Tay), Lazarus Profit (Tec), DaJuan McClodden (Snooze), and Cartel Gibson (Telly).
Jaborris was a protector by all means, devoted, loyal, and full of love. He fiercely loved and protected his daughter, and that is how he will always be remembered.
