Inez Johnson was born March 3, 1934 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Martha and Nick Jackson, Sr. She was employed to Richland Parish School Board, from which she retired after 26 years.
She accepted Christ at an early age, where she became a member of Seven Star Baptist Church. She later joined Greater One Christian Fellowship.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late K. Ford Johnson, Sr. for over 45 years. To this union, nine children were born. Three children preceded her in death: Larry, James, and Willie Sparrow, Jr. Three sisters and seven brothers also preceded her in death.
Inez was a loving, faithful, caring, trustworthy mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. To her family, she was the matriarch and the glue that held the family together.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Gertha Lee (Willie) of Delhi, Louisiana and Cynthia Polly (Steve) of Houston, Texas; four sons, K. Ford Johnson, Jr. (Tammy) of West Monroe, Louisiana; Donald Ray Johnson and Ray Anthony Johnson of Delhi, Louisiana; and Van Troy Johnson (Ruby) of Delhi, Louisiana; three sisters, Lois McCoy (John) and Doris Jackson (Robert Cleveland), both of Delhi, Louisiana, and Bennie Lee Fletcher of Bakersfield, California; four brothers, Lee Edward Jackson and Nick Jackson, Jr. (Nettie Lee), both of Delhi, Louisiana; Perry Jackson (Marlene) of Epps, Louisiana; and Earl Jackson (Earlene) of Bakersfield, California; a special nephew that she recognized as a son, Sam Young, Jr. (Judy) of Pasadena, California; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
