Brother Homer Green was born July 13, 1936 in Los Angeles, California to the late William Homer and Ethel Mae Green.
He attended 36th Street Elementary Forshay Jr. High, Dorsey High and Los Angeles Trade Tech.
Homer’s career entailed the following: Apprenticeship Coordinator for Local 636 of the AFL-CIO Glaziers and Glass Workers Union; Member of the Advisory Board of Los Angeles County Youth Employment Program; Member of the A. Philip Randolph Institute; Member of the Executive Board of Seventh Step Foundation-a First Offender Program and Field Rep for the AFL-CIO until his retirement.
He married Shirley Dupree on June 27, 1995.
He leaves to cherished his memory: his wife, Shirley Green of Downsville, LA; one son, Raymond Green (Martha) of Lancaster, California; one daughter, Michelle Green of Stanley, North Carolina; three sisters, Dorothy Allen of Hawthorne, California, Virginia Stamps of Los Angeles, California, and Katheryn Walton of Gardena, California; one devoted brother, Raymond C. Green (Joy) of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Etta Rae Larks (preceded him in death); one step-son Michael Graham of Monroe, LA; one step-daughter Stephanie Augurson (James) of Monroe, LA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
