“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
John 14:1-3
Herbertine Jenkins was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on September 4, 1950, to the late Herbert and Christell Jenkins. She transitioned on Sunday, December 17, 2023, in the comfort of her home in Forest Hill, Texas.
In 1967, she moved to Houston and attended Phillis Wheatley High School. She later moved back to Monroe, Louisiana, where she attended Carroll High School.
At an early age, she accepted Christ and united with the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend H. Y. Bell, later united with Free Gift under leadership of Reverend Rodney McFarland, Sr., where she remained until her health failed.
