Hazel Harris Jones was born on September 19, 1934 to the late Mary Green in Delhi, Louisiana. She was raised by the late Henry “Preacher” and Ada Fleming. She passed away on January 21, 2022.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Reverend Anthony Guice, Pastor) in Delhi, LA at the time of her passing.
On October 29, 1953, she married Alvin Charles (A.C.) Jones. During their marriage, they were blessed with seven children.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Alvin Jones, Sr.; sister, Mary Mimmers; and brothers, Gussie and Samuel Martin.
Left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Linda Jones of Delhi, LA; six sons, Alvin (Robyn) Jones, Jr. of Houston, TX; Kenneth (Joyce) Jones of Dallas, TX; Richard Jones of Delhi, LA; Clarence (Toni) Jones of Monroe, LA; Terry Jones of Delhi, LA; Sheldon (Teresa) Jones of Monroe, LA; four sisters, Bernice Wright of Winnsboro, LA; Erma Gray of Delhi, LA; Catherine Green of Houston, TX; Alice Evans of Knoxville, TN; four brothers, Clarence Vaughn of Delhi, LA; Azell Cornist, Sr. of Delhi, LA; Curtis Harris of Dumas, AR; James Green of Rayville, LA; Isaac Cleveland of Baton Rouge, LA also raised by “Preacher” and Ada Fleming; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
