Gwendolyn Kay Smith was born on September 4, 1956 at E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Levi and Rhoda Smith.
Her biological father was the late Daniel Bracy, Sr.
Gwendolyn was raised in Monroe, Louisiana. She attended grade school at J.S. Clark Elementary School, graduated from Carroll High School in 1974. Gwendolyn enjoyed reading, working crosswords puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite TV programs included Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Young and the Restless, Westerns, Kenneth Copeland and Joyce Meyer. Her favorite foods were crawfish and boiled corn.
One son, Maurice Terell Smith, proceeded her in death.
Gwendolyn leaves behind three children: Derrick Dewayne Johnson, Sr., Takeithia Antionette Washington (Brian), and Ronald Ray Smith (Shalasis); Fourteen Grandchildren: LaDedrua Harris, Byron Smith, Derrick Johnson Jr., Evie Johnson, Takayla Washington, Ra’ Miya Smith, Tamia Washington, Landon Augurson, Ramaud Smith, Daylen Johnson, Roland Smith, Ethan Brown Johnson, Chole Johnson, Nathan Johnson and two Great Grandchildren; thirteen siblings: Shirley Smith, Johnnie Ruth Smith, John Smith, Patricia Tanner ( Leon), Jorenda Harris (Tony), Katie Jenkins, Felix Bracy, Richard Bracy, Daniel Bracy Jr., Mamie Hogg, Joe Bracy, Mary Bracy, and Leroy Bracy and a host of other relatives and friends.
